Position Overview Working closely with the maintenance leadership team, this critical position will involve managing and planning the day-to-day operations of our helicopter maintenance program, including overseeing a team of skilled Aircraft Maintenance Engineers as well as scheduling future maintenance for our fleet of 15 helicopters, consisting of Bell 212HP and Airbus B2/B3 aircraft types. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring all maintenance tasks are performed efficiently, safely, and in compliance with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities Supervision & Leadership: Lead, supervise, and mentor a team of helicopter maintenance engineers to ensure optimal performance and adherence to company standards.
Maintenance Scheduling: Oversee the planning and scheduling of all scheduled and unscheduled maintenance for the fleet, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum aircraft availability.
Compliance & Safety: Ensure that all maintenance activities comply with Transport Canada regulations and industry best practices,



maintaining a strong focus on safety and quality standards.
Resource Management: Manage and coordinate the procurement of parts, tools, and materials necessary for maintenance, ensuring that inventory is adequate to support ongoing operations.
Troubleshooting & Technical Support: Provide technical expertise and support to the maintenance team in diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical issues.
Performance Reporting: Track and report maintenance progress, fleet status, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to senior management.
Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements within the maintenance department, aiming to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance safety.
Training & Development: Oversee the training and professional development of maintenance personnel, ensuring they are up-to-date with the latest technical knowledge, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
Quality Control: Conduct regular inspections and audits of maintenance work to ensure it meets the highest quality standards and is consistent with maintenance manuals, procedures, and industry regulations.
Qualifications & Experience Education: A relevant technical diploma, certification, or degree in aviation maintenance or a related field is required. Hold a Transport Canada Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (M) License; type endorsements on BH12, BH05 and/or Airbus AS350 series.
Experience:



Minimum of 5 years of experience in helicopter maintenance, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role, preferably in a similar fleet environment (Bell 212 and Airbus B2/B3 experience is a strong asset).
Knowledge of Helicopter Systems: Strong understanding of helicopter mechanical and avionics systems, particularly for the Bell 212 and Airbus Astar models.
Leadership Skills: Proven ability to manage and motivate a team, with excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills while maintaining professional appearance and demeanor.
Regulatory Knowledge: Thorough knowledge of Transport Canada’s regulations and standards for helicopter maintenance, as well as industry best practices.
Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to address complex mechanical issues efficiently.
Technical Proficiency: Proficient in using maintenance management software, maintenance tracking systems, and other relevant tools.
Work Setting Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with a flexible approach to hours and the ability to respond to emergency maintenance needs.
Physical Requirements Ability to work in both office and hangar environments.
Must be able to perform tasks that require physical strength and dexterity, including lifting heavy equipment and standing for extended periods.
