Primary Responsibilities Possess a fundamental understanding of contracts and familiarity with codes and laws governing construction.
Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications, and identify discrepancies or conflicts within the documents
Attend coordination meetings and regular construction progress meetings with the Owner and the Contractor.
Work with the HDR Project Manager to evaluate project schedules and prepare status reports.
Coordinate submittals (shop drawings, samples)
reviews and mock-up reviews
Work with the design team to resolve Requests for Information (RFIs), and issue Supplemental Instructions and manage construction Contract Changes
Maintain accurate daily records of the contractor’s daily activities and the work performed, and of the labor, equipment and materials used
Photograph construction progress and catalog photos for future reference.
Review construction materials for Contract compliance
Review Contractor pay requests, including stored materials; track progress for certification of payment
Conduct observations of the installation and witness acceptance testing of completed equipment and systems
Identify nonconforming work, develop project punchlists and maintain until corrected
Assist with project audit/closeout
Work under general supervision of a Design Project Manager
Supervise and direct the activities of junior Resident Project Representatives and Construction Inspectors, testing services and subconsultants
Preferred Qualifications Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) license or Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.) certification
Ability to interpret construction schedules
Ability to problem-solve and provide possible solutions to the engineer
Thorough knowledge of materials, means, methods and equipment used on multi-disciplinary construction projects.
Experience with construction scheduling, cost controls, and quality (quality control/quality assurance).
Experience with preparing Daily Reports, Nonconformance Notifications, and other reports or documentation.
Experience with Autodesk Construction Cloud, construction document management platforms, Microsoft Project, Primavera, or similar software packages used on design and construction projects.
First Aid / CPR/AED certification.
Local candidates are preferred.
Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Technology, or combination of education and relevant experience
A minimum of 5 years progressive construction experience on multidisciplinary projects
Must have a fundamental understanding of contracts and familiarity with codes and laws governing construction
Must possess the ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications and identify discrepancies or conflicts within documents
Must be able to work in a team environment
Must be computer literate, experience with Microsoft Office, Primavera, or related construction packages
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
