We are looking for a compensation professionalto support our growing compensation consulting team on several current and up coming client projects, and other initiatives. We are looking for someone, based in Vancouver or Toronto, with superb analytical and communication skills who is highly motivated, has a fine eye for detail, and can juggle multiple tasks and deliverables.

A typical day-in-the life of a Compensation Analyst involves meeting with clients, performing data analysis, understanding compensation trends to inform clients on compensation-related inquiries, and supporting internal projects. As a team member, you will work in partnership with the project managers to support clients all across Canada and gain exposure to the many areas of compensation practices including salary structure design, market analysis, job documentation and evaluation, executive pay, pay equity, salary surveys and many more!

Roles and Responsibilities

Utilize Excel and other analysis tools to build compensation-related tools, dashboards, and analysis by adopting advanced techniques to compute and aggregate data, and conduct market comparisons

Interpret data and derive key market insights for clients and other reports

Support consulting team members on client projects by providing high-touch data analysis covering a wide-spread of broad compensation activities, including external market analysis using salary surveys, salary structure design, executive pay, incentive plan design, pay equity, and job evaluation

Conduct market benchmarking by reviewing client data, determining appropriate peer groups, and performing data compilation/aggregation among multiple sources, sectors, and industry databases

Collect, organize, track, and interpret client pay program information and policy material

Support national and custom external market compensation survey activities relating to questionnaire setup, create job capsules, survey tracking, database management, administration, data validation, and client communications

Help clients write job descriptions (JDs) by reviewing existing job documentation, organizational structures, JD templates, and conducting interviews





Support consultants on project management duties, including managing client documentation, coordination, scheduling, meeting note documentation, and general status tracking

Support the job evaluation process by reviewing and creating job descriptions and evaluating roles using a job evaluation methodology

Conduct research and perform financial analyses of industry sectors and client peer groups to understand business strategy, corporate performance, compensation, and rewards practices and trends

Support the team in preparation of client and business development-related presentations and executive reports; translate data into broader total rewards themes and recommendations, utilizing multiple applications including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

What you offer

0-2 years of relevant experience is preferred but not required. Previous co-op terms, internships, or other related experience will be considered an asset

Bachelor's degree specifically in Business, Commerce, Economics, or a related field (required) with a baseline understanding of the different organization structures

Analytical skills and basic proficiency in MS Excel (comfortable with lookups, pivot tables, and basic formulas) combined with a strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and database management

Strong oral and written communication skills including the ability to independently write a strong first draft report or insights presentation for clients

Strong desire to learn and develop through exposure to various projects and clients

Demonstrated ability to follow established standards and procedures





Ability to work in a team environment while managing multiple priorities and projects

Excellent interpersonal skills, strong verbal and written communication skills

Attention to detail and strong organizational skills

Commitment to superior client satisfaction

Strong assets but not required

Prior co-op/ internship experience in data analysis, consulting, and/or compensation

Previous work experience in compensation with knowledge in market matching and benchmarking, job evaluation, job description writing, pay equity, or executive compensation

In the process of completing or willingness to complete the Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) designation

Bilingual in both English and French (reading, writing, and speaking)
