Take on a rewarding role as a District Indigenous School Social Worker with School District 60, focusing on students’ emotional and social well-being in Fort St. John, BC. Engage in comprehensive services to support various student needs.
This school-based position emphasizes collaboration with parents, teachers, and community agencies to ensure students thrive within the educational system. From September through June, join a team committed to addressing both social and emotional challenges faced by students, and provide vital connections to resources.
Key Responsibilities:
• Work with at-risk students and facilitate their success
• Track and document student progress in case files
• Train educators on students’ emotional support needs
• Link families to essential local resources for assistance
• Foster communication between school, home, and community
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s or master’s in social work or related field
• Valid BC social work license preferred
• Proven ability to lead and organize
• Experience in educational or community settings
• Availability for school community travel
