Director of Health, Safety and Environment
to ensure: Kinetic maintains a high-performing HSE management system that enables safe, compliant, and productive project delivery. Operational leaders own health and safety by integrating it into planning, decision-making, and project execution. Kinetic has a proactive safety culture where employees identify risks, speak up, and contribute to continuous improvement. Regulatory compliance, COR certification, and client HSE requirements are consistently achieved while organizational risks are effectively managed. Serious incidents and organizational risks are managed effectively, minimizing impacts on people, projects, reputation, and the business. Kinetic's HSE management system continuously improves through stronger leadership, better performance, and organizational learning.
Health and safety is embedded in Operations, with leaders owning performance and the HSE function providing strategic leadership, governance, and expertise. The wage band for this position is $160,000 - $200,000 annually and is based on relevant skills and experience. Key Responsibilities Strategy and Leadership Operational Excellence Safety Culture Risk and Compliance Systems and Continuous Improvement Position Specifications Qualifications 5+ years of experience in an HSE Leadership role with demonstrated success in safety culture improvement 10+ years of experience in an HSE Role Post-secondary education in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, Environmental Management, Business, or a related discipline. Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) designation, or the ability to obtain the designation within a reasonable period, is considered a strong asset. NCSO CHSC, Gold Seal, or equivalent professional credentials are considered assets. OHS experience within the construction industry is considered a strong asset Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Expert knowledge of occupational health and safety legislation, regulations, and industry best practices. Strong understanding of construction operations, project delivery, and risk management. Experience developing and improving Health, Safety and Environment management systems, policies,
and standards. Exceptional leadership, influencing, coaching, and relationship-building skills. Strong business acumen with the ability to balance safety, operational, and commercial priorities. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills. Demonstrated ability to lead organizational change and build a positive safety culture.
