We are looking for an ARS Compliance Specialist to support ENMAX Power Corporation's implementation and ongoing compliance with Alberta Reliability Standards (ARS). In this role, you will play a key part in helping the organization prepare for and adapt to Alberta's evolving reliability framework as AESO’s Sync-Up initiative introduces new and revised compliance obligations. Working closely with internal stakeholders, regulatory bodies, and industry partners, you will lead compliance readiness activities, coordinate implementation efforts, and help embed sustainable processes, controls, and programs that support long-term compliance. This is an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented professional who enjoys project management, regulatory compliance, and cross-functional collaboration, while contributing to the reliable and safe operation of Alberta's electricity system. Major Responsibilities

Coordinate and manage Alberta Reliability Standards (ARS) compliance programs to ensure EPC meets all applicable regulatory, legal, and industry requirements. Lead and support compliance-related projects and strategic initiatives, including the implementation of new and revised reliability standards arising from the AESO Sync-Up initiative and other regulatory changes. Develop, implement, and continuously improve compliance programs, processes, controls, and governance practices that support sustained regulatory compliance. Collaborate with EPC business units and subject matter experts to assess compliance impacts, establish accountabilities, and integrate regulatory requirements into operational processes. Monitor regulatory developments, industry trends, and compliance risks, recommending and implementing program enhancements as required. Build and maintain effective relationships with the AESO, MSA, auditors, industry working groups, and other market participants, representing EPC in compliance-related forums and engagements. Coordinate and support audits, self-certifications, investigations, and compliance monitoring activities, including the preparation and maintenance of compliance evidence and documentation.



Conduct compliance assessments, root cause analyses, and corrective action activities to address compliance gaps and strengthen program effectiveness. Provide compliance subject matter expertise, training, and stakeholder engagement to promote awareness, support project implementation, and ensure effective management of compliance obligations. Education Required

Degree or diploma in Engineering, Business or in a related technical field, or equivalent combination of education or experience in compliance and/or utility roles. Qualifications & Experience

Minimum five years previous applied experience in compliance/regulatory program development and implementation or utility experience. Knowledge of regulatory compliance programs, governance frameworks, and compliance management principles, preferably within the electric utility industry. Understanding of Alberta Reliability Standards (ARS), ISO Rules, NERC Reliability Standards, electric utility operations, or similar regulatory environments. Working knowledge of document management systems such as Infolink or similar systems. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint. Experience with root cause analysis and corrective action programs (asset). Competencies

Identifies compliance risks, evaluates options, and develops practical solutions to address complex regulatory and operational challenges. Effectively coordinates multiple initiatives, manages timelines, and prioritizes activities to ensure compliance obligations and project milestones are achieved. Hybrid (home and office) workforce with office workspace located at ENMAX Place (141 - 50th Avenue SE, Calgary, AB). You will work from home on Mondays and Fridays and in the office on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Initial interviews may be done virtually as well as parts of our on-boarding and job training may be completed remotely. Must be legal to work in Canada and requires the successful completion of a criminal background check. Two pieces of valid Government issued ID will be required.
