Job Title: Part-Time Professor, Health & Life SciencesRequisition #: 26-0177Department: Health & Life SciencesPayband Range: $85.46 - $148.27Hours/Week: Up to 6Posting Date: Tuesday, August 11, 2026Closing Date: Tuesday, September 1, 2026 at 11:59 PM ESTVacancy Type: Academic - Part-timePosition SummaryAcademic Part-time PositionThe School of Health & Life Sciences is seeking qualified professionals to teach theory and lab courses part time in our Nursing and affiliated programs for the fall (September to December) and/or winter (January to April) terms. We welcome applications from qualified professionals with expertise in the health sciences, including Registered Nurses with healthcare experience, as well as individuals with backgrounds in biological sciences, biochemistry, and related disciplines. Candidates should have experience teaching, mentoring, or supporting student learning and demonstrate expertise in one or more of the following subject areas:Human Anatomy and PhysiologyHuman Biology and BiochemistrySuccessful candidates will be required to conduct work within Ontario and must be available to work on-site at Conestoga's Doon campus, located at 299 Doon Valley Drive. Conestoga offers classes Monday to Sunday from 7:00 a.M. to 10:00 p.M. Courses are primarily delivered in person in accordance with our academic calendar. Part time Professors typically teach one to two courses. Courses are approximately three to six hours per week in the classroom for a 14-week term.ResponsibilitiesEnsure program and course curriculum are current, relevant,



and reflective of best practices in the fieldDesign appropriate strategies and tools for facilitating and evaluating student progress and achievementCarry out regularly scheduled instruction according to the format prescribed for the course, including online, classroom, and computer-assisted lab lessonsEnsure student awareness of course objectives, instructional approach, and evaluation systemsEvaluate student progress/achievement, assuming responsibility for the overall assessment of student work within the assigned course, and maintain records as requiredSupport students in the use of eConestoga, the learning management system (D2L), as well as maintain course materials within this systemCreate and maintain a positive learning environment which supports the diversity of students' cultures, educational backgrounds, and learning stylesWork in a collaborative, collegial manner both within the department and across the collegeQualificationsA PhD in Nursing, Health Sciences, Biological Sciences, or a closely related discipline is requiredA minimum of five years of experience in nursing, healthcare, biological sciences, biochemistry, or related disciplinesPrevious adult or post-secondary level teaching experience is an assetExperience with curriculum development is an assetExperience with computer systems (e.G., Microsoft Office Suite) and educational technologies (e.G., D2L) is preferredDemonstrated exceptional presentation,



communication, organizational, and interpersonal skillsDemonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of an academic teamDemonstrated ability to relate to learners and provide a positive learning setting to students working at different skill levels, including international students and students requiring accommodation, is an assetStrong commitment to academic excellence, student success, and ability to support Conestoga's continuous quality improvement initiativesStrong relationships with industry contacts and network connections are considered an assetCompensation is determined using a standardized wage calculation that considers education, relevant industry experience, and teaching experience. Part-Time Professors are paid an hourly rate based on Teaching Contact Hours (up to 6 hours per week). This rate is inclusive of all academic responsibilities, including course preparation, delivery, and evaluation. The posted hourly rate represents an estimated range.
