Focus of the role:

You will lead the design and execution of environmental strategies across a large, complex industrial operation—shaping how environmental performance evolves over time.

Work Schedule:

Monday–Thursday: 7:00am–4:00pm

Friday: 7:00am–3:00pm

Every second Friday off

Relocation support is available.

The Role: Strategy First
This role is not about day-to-day compliance—it is about setting direction and building long-term environmental strategy.

Reporting to the Manager, Environment & Lands, you will define and drive integrated environmental programs across the site, anchored around five core pillars:

Air – emissions reduction strategies and community exposure management

Dust – fugitive dust control and reduction of ambient particulate impacts

Water – water management, risk mitigation, and system resilience

Remediation – large-scale legacy impact remediation (on-site and surrounding areas)

Soil – contamination management, restoration, and long-term site stewardship

You will lead a team of 3–4 direct reports, providing strategic direction, technical oversight, and coaching. While the role is not hands-on operationally, it requires solid technical depth to effectively guide specialists, validate approaches, and ensure robust decision-making.

What You’ll Own
You will be accountable for building and advancing cohesive environmental strategies and programs, including:

Long-term air emissions reduction and community exposure strategies

Dust management programs focused on reducing fugitive and ambient impacts

Water system risk reduction and long-term resource protection strategies

Large-scale remediation programs addressing historical site impacts

Soil management and restoration strategies across affected areas

Biodiversity and ecosystem management frameworks across a wide regional footprint

Aquatic monitoring and environmental performance programs

Infrastructure environmental risk strategies (e.g., stormwater and containment systems)

Community-facing environmental strategies including air quality and public health outcomes

A key part of the role is ensuring these pillars are not managed in isolation, but delivered as a connected, forward-looking environmental strategy aligned with regulatory expectations and business priorities.

Leadership & Influence

Lead, develop, and mentor a team of environmental specialists (3–4 direct reports)

Set priorities, allocate resources, and manage significant program budgets

Provide technical oversight across multiple complex environmental domains

Partner closely with operations, technical teams, and a counterpart focused on compliance and execution

What You Bring

Strong background in environmental strategy, program design, and multi-disciplinary leadership

Technical understanding across air, water, soil, and remediation disciplines

Proven ability to translate complex environmental challenges into clear strategic direction

Experience managing large-scale environmental programs and budgets

Compensation

Benefits:
