Reclamation Planners play a critical role in advancing sites through the closure process by applying technical expertise, regulatory knowledge, and sound business judgment to develop practical, defensible reclamation and remediation strategies.

Job location: Calgary, Alberta

Shift schedule: 5 x 2, 8-hour shifts

Safety sensitive position: Yes

Key Accountabilities

Manage a portfolio of reclamation and remediation sites, applying technical judgment to prioritize work based on risk, regulatory obligations, business objectives, and closure readiness

Develop technically sound closure strategies, scopes of work, cost estimates, permits, and third-party agreements to support successful execution of field programs

Review, challenge, and provide direction on technical assessments, remedial options, reclamation strategies, and closure reports prepared by external consultants

Collaborate with Reclamation Operations, regulators, and other stakeholders to advance sites through the closure process and achieve program objectives

Monitor regulatory commitments and ensure closure activities remain aligned with provincial requirements, company standards,



and approved plans

Contribute to annual planning and budgeting processes by evaluating costs, forecasting work programs, and identifying opportunities to improve program efficiency

What You Bring To The Role

Minimum 8-10 years of progressive experience in assessment, remediation, and reclamation of upstream oil and gas sites, including technical report preparation, review, and regulatory closure planning

Post-secondary education in environmental science, geology, engineering, or a related discipline, supported by an applicable professional designation or technologist certification

Strong knowledge of Alberta reclamation, remediation, and environmental assessment regulations, with the ability to apply regulatory requirements to complex site-specific conditions

Demonstrated ability to evaluate and recommend fit-for-purpose closure strategies, including the application of risk-based and alternative closure approaches

Proven experience reviewing and providing technical direction on environmental site assessments, remedial action plans, remediation reports, and reclamation submissions

Strong organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively in a multidisciplinary environment
