Take on a critical role at Northumberland Ferries Limited as a 2nd Class Engineer responsible for the operations and maintenance of our vessels. This year-round full time position is stationed in Wood Islands, PE, and Caribou, NS.

In the position of 2nd Class Engineer, you will manage the engine room, overseeing maintenance and cleanliness while reporting directly to the Chief Engineer. Your skills in supervising watch personnel and understanding safety protocols will enhance our team's operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
• Serve as Engineer of the watch during machinery inspections
• Conduct thorough maintenance and repair of ship machinery
• Delegate tasks to engine room staff efficiently




• Report operational irregularities to the Chief Engineer
• Keep maintenance logs and inventory updated

Requirements:
• Valid Certificate of Competency as a 2nd Class Engineer
• Required Seafarer’s Medical Certificate and other certifications
• Knowledge of SMS and safety regulations
• Demonstrated teamwork and independent working abilities
• Must have Canadian citizenship or permanent resident status
