The Manager of Production Engineering and Quality Assurance (QA) is responsible for overseeing the engineering and quality assurance functions within the production department.
This role involves leading a team of engineers and quality assurance professionals to ensure that production processes are effective, reliable, and meet the highest quality standards.
Responsible for driving the deployment of the quality function throughout the entire supply chain, by establishing a comprehensive quality system that covers suppliers, internal manufacturing processes, and field performance of the Badger’s trucks.
The compensation for this role will be commensurate based on education and/or experience.
What You'll Be Doing
Develops a one-year plan that aligns to the overall corporate business’ strategic plans and immediate manager’s business plan.
Leads and manages the production engineering and quality assurance teams, providing direction, support, and development opportunities.
Develops and implements strategies to improve production processes, enhance efficiency, and reduce costs.
Ensures that all products meet quality standards and regulatory requirements through rigorous testing and inspection processes.
Oversees engineering production projects to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
Works closely with other departments, such as production,
supply chain, and research and development (R&D;), to ensure seamless integration of engineering and quality assurance activities.
Ensures compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.
What You'll Need For Success
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field. Registered as a Professional Engineer with APEGA or other provincial regulatory body.
Minimum of 5 years of 3D CAD experience.
7-10 years of experience in production engineering and quality assurance, with at least 3-5 years in a managerial role preferred.
Strong leadership and team management skills
Industrial or manufacturing setting with exposure to machinery, noise, and varying temperatures.
Ability to work in confined spaces and perform tasks that require physical exertion.
Capable of lifting 20-30lbs.
