I’m partnering with a well-established employee-owned engineering consulting firm that is looking to bring on a senior environmental leader to help drive the continued growth of their Vancouver operations.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys balancing technical environmental consulting work with leadership, mentoring, client development, and strategic planning. The Vancouver environmental group is in a strong growth phase, offering the successful individual the opportunity to have a genuine impact on team development, market presence, and long-term business direction.
You would be joining a multidisciplinary organization with solid technical resources across Canada, while still having the autonomy to help shape and expand the local environmental practice.
About the Role
The successful candidate will lead a growing environmental team consisting of engineers, scientists, and technical professionals while overseeing a broad portfolio of environmental projects across a range of industries.
This is a visible leadership role that combines operational management, project oversight, staff development, and business development responsibilities.
Areas of project involvement may include:
Environmental site assessments
Remediation and risk management projects
Hydrogeology and groundwater investigations
Waste management and landfill-related projects
Hazardous materials and demolition assessments
Geothermal and environmental infrastructure initiatives
Regulatory compliance and environmental permitting
Key Responsibilities
Provide leadership and direction to the environmental group in Vancouver
Mentor and support the development of junior and intermediate staff
Oversee project execution, quality management, and client satisfaction
Assist with strategic growth initiatives and business planning
Lead proposals, client engagement, and business development activities
Build and maintain strong client relationships across multiple sectors
Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to support successful project delivery
Support hiring initiatives and long-term team growth
Monitor operational and financial performance metrics for the departmentPromote a positive, collaborative, and safety-focused culture
What They’re Looking For
Degree in Environmental, Civil, Geological Engineering, or related discipline
Professional Engineer designation (P.Eng.) with EGBC or eligibility to register
15+ years of environmental consulting experience
Previous leadership or people management experience
Strong project delivery and client management capabilities
Experience with proposals, business development, and team growth
Entrepreneurial mindset with interest in building a practice
Excellent communication and leadership skills
CSAP designation considered an asset
Compensation range approximately $150K–$180K depending on experience
