Move Medicine is an established, multidisciplinary sport and exercise medicine clinic in Sudbury, Ontario. We are recruiting a physician to join our growing practice and help meet significant existing demand for MSK and sport medicine care across Northeastern Ontario.

This is an opportunity to step into a focused practice with an established referral network, existing patient demand, experienced administrative support, and the clinical infrastructure already in place.

Our ideal candidate is a physician with established Sport & Exercise Medicine training who is ready to step directly into practice. We are also open to physicians interested in regular locum or fly-in clinics, as well as family physicians with a strong interest in MSK and sport medicine who want to develop a focused practice with mentorship and additional training.

The Opportunity
Physicians at Move Medicine focus on sport and musculoskeletal medicine rather than longitudinal primary care.

The Practice Includes

Acute and chronic musculoskeletal assessment

Sport-related injuries

Osteoarthritis and joint disorders

Ultrasound-guided assessment and procedures

Image-guided joint and soft-tissue injections

Corticosteroid, hyaluronic acid and PRP procedures

Concussion assessment and management

Return-to-sport and return-to-activity planning

Collaboration with rehabilitation and allied health clinicians

There is no requirement to maintain a longitudinal primary-care roster .

We recognize that relocating to Northern Ontario is a significant decision. Candidates do not need to make that decision before experiencing the practice.

Permanent Practice
We are seeking a physician interested in building a substantial long‑term practice at Move Medicine.

Full‑time is ideal, but we are open to physicians starting part‑time and increasing their clinical commitment over time.

Regular Locum or Fly‑In Practice
Already established elsewhere?

We are open to physicians providing concentrated clinic blocks in Sudbury, including recurring weekly, biweekly or monthly clinics.

This provides an opportunity to expand your sport medicine practice without immediately relocating.

Come Try the Practice
Interested but not ready to commit?

Come spend clinical time with us.

We can arrange a trial clinic or short‑term locum so that you can experience the clinic, team, patient population and community before considering a longer‑term commitment.

Sports Medicine Development Pathway
Already a family physician but want to move away from traditional comprehensive primary care?

We are open to the right physician with a genuine interest in sport and musculoskeletal medicine.

A supported transition can include mentorship, focused clinical exposure and progressive development of MSK assessment, procedures and point‑of‑care ultrasound skills based on the physician’s existing experience and learning needs.

The goal is to provide a pathway into a focused sport medicine practice without requiring the physician to build one from scratch.

Remuneration
Physicians practise under a percentage‑based professional billing model.

Physician retains up to 75% of professional billings , with clinic infrastructure,



administrative support and billing services provided by Move Medicine.

Initial income/ramp‑up guarantees

Productivity‑based remuneration opportunities

Locum arrangements

Travel/accommodation support for selected recurring locum arrangements

Flexible transition into permanent practice

Greater Sudbury is the major health, education and service centre for Northeastern Ontario and serves a large regional catchment population.

The community offers something increasingly difficult to find in larger urban centres: the ability to build a meaningful medical career while maintaining access to lakes, trails, outdoor recreation and a manageable commute.

Sudbury is home to NOSM University and Health Sciences North and has an active sport and outdoor community.

For candidates currently living elsewhere, a locum or fly‑in arrangement provides an opportunity to experience both the practice and Northern Ontario before considering relocation.

Who We Are Looking For
Our Ideal Candidate Is

Licensed or eligible for independent medical practice in Ontario

CCFP‑certified or equivalent

Experienced or strongly interested in Sport & Exercise Medicine

Comfortable working within a multidisciplinary workplace

Interested in MSK medicine and developing procedural expertise

Focused on evidence‑informed, patient‑centred care

CASEM Diploma in Sport & Exercise Medicine or enhanced‑skills SEM training is highly desirable but is not required for the right candidate .
