Support children and families at the Family Learning Place as a Monitor. This role focuses on safe, culturally respectful supervision of family visits and accurate observation documentation.
The Monitor will be responsible for ensuring a secure environment during family visits, promoting positive interactions. Applicants should have experience in human services, an understanding of trauma-informed approaches, and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse clients. Key responsibilities include navigating community systems while providing support to families in crisis.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee family visits ensuring safety and wellbeing of children
• Facilitate respectful and supportive family interactions
• Document detailed observations for internal and ministry records
• Assist clients in accessing healthcare and social services
• Manage crises calmly and develop safety plans
Requirements:
• Completion of Grade 12 or higher education in relevant fields
• Background in working with families or children
• Knowledge of intergenerational trauma and community issues
• Excellent skills in communication and organization
• Must have a valid Class 5 Drivers Licence and background checks
