About the Position The Centre for Health and Wellness is seeking Clinical Instructors to support nursing students in developing the knowledge, skills, and qualified judgment required for safe and effective nursing practice. The Clinical Instructor plays a key role in bridging theory and practice by mentoring nursing students in real-world healthcare settings.
Clinical Instructor Responsibilities Include Preparation, supervision, evaluation of approximately 8 students in a group with support from the Practice Coordinator
Participate in the off-campus clinical placements
Seek excellence in teaching by applying and evaluating various teaching strategies
Encourage and foster an environment of inquiry and valuing of evidence-informed practice
Evaluate students in clinical practice and provide feedback on written assignments
Attend scheduled team meetings for Kick-Off and Wrap-Up (twice per semester)
Participate as a member of a larger faculty team in the development and implementation of effective teaching strategies and initiatives
Travel may be required to clinical settings
Required Qualifications LPN and/or RN designation, a minimum of a degree in nursing is required to teach within the BN Program
Current registration with the CLHA or CRNA
Demonstrate a strong knowledge base and safe, competent practice
Minimum 3 years current clinical experience in medical/surgery/long-term care settings or minimum 3 years current experience in maternity or pediatrics
Ability to work effectively and autonomously within small groups
Capable of performing physical duties such as patient transfers and lifts
Recent clinical supervision/preceptorship of students and/or teaching experience is an asset
Preferred Qualifications Salary Commensurate with education in accordance with the current Faculty Collective Agreement Sessional Faculty Grid
