Join Carewest as a Casual Recreation Therapist and make a lasting impact on client well-being. This position offers a mix of functional interventions and leisure education at our Garrison Green facility.

In this role, you will be part of an interprofessional healthcare team, responsible for delivering therapeutic recreation services. Evaluating clients’ recreational needs allows you to develop and implement tailored treatment plans and therapeutic activities. You will also guide support staff and ensure adherence to ethical standards outlined by the Alberta Therapeutic Recreation Association.

Key Responsibilities:
• Assess therapeutic recreation needs for residents
• Create and implement personalized treatment plans
• Facilitate engaging recreational programs and activities




• Oversee support staff and student interactions
• Uphold qualified standards and practice guidelines

Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Recreation Therapy or equivalent
• Current registration with Alberta Therapeutic Recreation Association
• Certification as a Therapeutic Recreation Specialist is an advantage
• Basic Life Support Provider CPR certification required
• Preference for candidates with 3 years of relevant experience
