Wiikwemkoong is seeking four skilled In-Home Support Workers to advocate for family rights and provide necessary resources. You will conduct home visits to assess needs and monitor progress, ensuring that services uphold the community's Gchi Naaknigewin and Children's Bill of Rights. This role is vital for maintaining culturally appropriate support that resonates with Anishnaabe traditions.
Key Responsibilities:
• Represent families at risk in child welfare cases
• Offer resources to navigate the child welfare system
• Conduct home assessments and provide ongoing support
• Connect families with relevant community services
• Record interactions, case notes, and progress reports
Requirements:
• Degree in Social Work or related field preferred
• 2 years of relevant experience
• Robust communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficient in office systems and computer applications
• Anishnaabemowin language skills are a plus
