Reporting directly to the Site Supervisor, the Shelter Support Worker plays a key role in assisting individuals at risk by providing one-on-one support and developing intervention plans. Your work will include conducting wellness checks and promoting independence through life skills training. Actively advocating for the residents, you will contribute to an atmosphere of belonging and provide vital services within a committed team.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct individualized support and intervention plans
• Perform intake for recent residents and assist with orientation
• Facilitate access to resources and services
• Maintain a safe and organized environment
• Document interactions and progress efficiently
Requirements:
• Diploma in human services or related discipline
• At least one year of recent experience
• Training in crisis intervention techniques preferable
• Strong ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Capacity to address medical emergencies safely
