Job Description The Privacy and Information Access Lead ensures compliance with Alberta's access to information and privacy legislation. This position is responsible for implementing, maturing, and operating NAIT's access to information and privacy management program. Under ATIA, this position will handle all access to information requests (including corresponding with the applicant, collecting records, applying statutory exemptions, and disclosing within legislated timelines) by providing expert advice, navigating complex and sensitive matters and serving as the operational lead for regulatory engagement.
Key Responsibilities Major Responsibilities and Estimated Time Allocation:
Action access to information requests (35%)
Develop and implement privacy compliance program (25%)
Provide expert advice and education (15%)
Lead or coordinate privacy breach responses and regulatory engagement (5%)
Develop policies, procedures, and educational modules (20%)
Skills & Abilities In-depth knowledge of Alberta's ATIA, POPA, FOIP and related regulations Awareness of Canada's Privacy Act, Access to Information Act, and related regulations Extensive knowledge of privacy-by-design frameworks, access to information processes,



risk management and administrative law principles
Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g. law, information management, public administration, privacy, risk or a related discipline) Professional privacy certification (e.g. IAPP from the University of Alberta preferred, CIPP/C considered) or equivalent demonstrated experience. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. Applicants with education credentials earned outside of Canada should have their credentials evaluated by World Education Services (WES), International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS) or the Comparative Education Services (CES).
Remuneration Remuneration: Refer to salary range noted on this posting, plus a comprehensive benefits package. The compensation range for this job posting is : $84,655.22 - $112,153.60 NAIT is committed to a transparent, fair, and human-centered hiring experience.
