Pursuing a mission to empower Indigenous communities, the NCIAF is hiring a National Indigenous Engagement Specialist to guide initiatives surrounding the bison sector. The successful candidate will champion reconciliation, capacity building, and economic opportunities within Indigenous agriculture. Expect to engage closely with Elders, Knowledge Keepers, and industry partners to foster impactful relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
• Spearhead the Indigenous Prairie Bison Initiative
• Cultivate partnerships with community stakeholders
• Provide mentorship and training to enhance community operations
• Ensure projects align with cultural values
• Manage budgets, reports, and funding sources
Requirements:
• Significant experience in the Canadian bison sector
• Relevant degree or comparable experience
