Become a Health Systems Advocate focused on Métis wellness in Cranbrook, BC. Partner with community leaders to drive health initiatives and advance care equity for Métis peoples.
In this pivotal role, you’ll work directly with Métis Chartered Communities and health authorities to address key challenges in the healthcare system. The advocate will provide insights based on the recommendations from the Truth and Reconciliation Commission and influence programs that honor Métis culture. Central to this position are trust-building and developing collaborative solutions to improve health access and experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop plans for the implementation of health initiatives
• Educate health authority staff on Métis health issues
• Collaborate on initiatives to combat Anti-Indigenous Racism
• Engage communities for tailored health promotion
• Provide recommendations for enhancing service delivery
Requirements:
• Diploma in healthcare or social services
• At least two years of healthcare experience
• Familiarity with Indigenous health frameworks
• Solid relationship-building skills
• Flexibility for community events and travel
