Join Alpha House as an Overnight Support Worker, focusing on nurturing a protected environment for clients in shelter and detox settings. This role is critical for ensuring that individuals receive the care and attention they need overnight.
This position requires a genuine, non-judgmental approach toward vulnerable populations. You will monitor client safety, manage crises effectively, and engage with clients in a compassionate manner. As you help individuals navigate their challenges, you will play a vital role in promoting recovery and stability, with opportunities for advancement after 90 days.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee admissions and discharges of clients
• Monitor client well-being, including withdrawal conditions
• De-escalate conflicts and respond to emergencies
• Respectfully interact and provide information on treatment options
• Connect clients to necessary community resources
Requirements:
• 2-year degree or diploma in social sciences or ongoing education
• Physically capable of assisting clients and lifting up to 35 lbs
• Valid Vulnerable Sector Search within the last six months
• Obtain necessary training certifications
• Prior experience with addictions or homelessness considered an asset
