Shape future infrastructure projects as an Indigenous Liaison Coordinator at Aecon. This role is crucial for supporting Indigenous relations and community engagement efforts across Ontario.
Reporting to the Indigenous Relations Senior Manager, the Indigenous Liaison Coordinator will facilitate the implementation of Aecon’s Indigenous Relations Strategy, focusing on the Williams Treaty First Nations and Saugeen Ojibway Nation territories. You’ll leverage your expertise in Indigenous engagement and culture to enhance community relations, support project commitments, and contribute to capacity-building initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support implementation of Indigenous Relations Strategy within communities
• Develop community relations and partnership initiatives
• Interface with teams to coordinate employment opportunities
• Act as liaison between projects and rights holder communities
• Maintain project documentation and records
Requirements:
• 2-3 years’ experience in Indigenous engagement
• Robust understanding of Indigenous governance and history
• Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
• Proficiency in MS Office tools
• Local knowledge of Indigenous culture preferred
