Explore a unique opportunity as a Heavy Equipment Operator with Nasittuq at remote sites in Nunavut. This full time role offers 6 weeks on, followed by 6 weeks off.
In this position, you will safely operate a range of heavy equipment and maintain vital roadways and runways crucial to the North Warning System. Your attention to safety and operational integrity will contribute significantly to the working conditions in these remote environments and the overall success of site operations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Maintain and operate heavy equipment, safety ensuring site integrity
• Perform daily vehicle checks and address maintenance needs
• Assist with material delivery requiring loading/unloading procedures
• Document maintenance for Mobile Support Equipment
• Respond efficiently to site preservation emergencies
Requirements:
• Valid Heavy Equipment Operator license and Class G Driver's Licence
• Proven experience with heavy construction machinery
• Familiarity with safety protocols and road maintenance techniques
• Capability to travel to nearby sites
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
