Become a Title & Rights Researcher with the k̓wezúsmin̓ department, dedicated to advocating for Aboriginal rights and interests. This full-time position requires a detail-oriented individual skilled in research and analysis.
In this impactful role, you will report to the Project & Culture Manager and focus on strategic research to support the Lil'wat Nation's governance and land use policies. You will prepare concise documentation for leadership while ensuring collaboration with various departments, including GIS and Cultural Research. Your expertise will play a vital role in protecting the Nation's interests through thorough research and analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
• Research Aboriginal rights, land use, and governance matters
• Analyze referral materials for potential impacts on rights
• Create reports and recommendations for Chiefs and Council
• Compile organized research for regulatory processes
• Monitor legislative developments affecting First Nations rights
Requirements:
• Degree in Indigenous Studies, Political Science, or related fields
• 3-5 years of experience in relevant research areas
• Robust analytical and critical thinking abilities
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and research tools
• Clean Criminal Record Check and valid Driver's License
