Perform quality control inspections for piping fabrication, installation, and repair during shutdown/turnaround operations
Inspect welding operations according to CSA W47.1, CSA W59, ASME Codes, project specifications, and approved WPS/WPQ
Verify material traceability, heat numbers, MTRs, and piping-specification compliance
Review piping isometrics, P&IDs;, weld maps, and fabrication drawings
Conduct fit-up inspections, dimensional checks, weld visual inspections, and final acceptance inspections
Monitor cutting, beveling, fit-up, welding, repair welding, PWHT coordination, and surface preparation
Ensure compliance with QA/QC procedures, ITPs, and project hold/witness points
Identify non-conformances, issue NCRs, and track corrective and preventive actions
Maintain inspection records, daily reports, weld logs, and QC turnover documentation
Coordinate with welders, supervisors, engineers, NDT technicians, and client representatives
Verify NDT requirements, review NDT reports, and confirm acceptance criteria
Support fast-paced shutdown schedules while maintaining quality and safety standards
Promote and enforce site safety policies and safe work practices
Requirements CWB Level 2 Welding Inspector Certification – mandatory
Shutdown/turnaround piping inspection experience strongly preferred
Experience with carbon steel, stainless steel, and alloy piping systems
Experience performing field piping inspections in operating plant environments
Strong understanding of QA/QC systems, ITPs, turnover documentation, and weld traceability
Ability to read and interpret P&IDs;, piping isometrics, weld maps, and fabrication drawings
Working knowledge of ASME B31 piping codes and industrial construction standards
Strong communication, reporting, and organizational skills

Ability to work night shifts, 6 days on/1 day off, 10–13 hours per day
