Take on the role of Director of Communications and Culture with the Council of the Haida Nation in Skidegate or Masset, Haida Gwaii. This full-time leadership position focuses on strategic communications and the promotion of Haida cultural values.
Reporting directly to the Executive Director, you will lead communications that impact cultural initiatives, education, and community wellbeing. This senior role requires at least five years in communication, project management, and team leadership, all while ensuring that communication is informed by community perspectives. Your work will be pivotal in strengthening relationships within and outside the Haida Nation.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage communication around Haida cultural initiatives
• Foster collaboration with Haida citizens and external partners
• Supervise communication staff for optimal delivery
• Track and report on key milestones and challenges
• Ensure transparency in CHN's policies and decisions
Requirements:
• Over 5 years in communications or cultural roles
• Robust understanding of Haida cultural values
• Proven leadership skills in team environments
• Advanced computer skills including graphics software
• Valid B.C. driver's license
