Embrace an influential position as the Language & Culture Workshop Coordinator for the Tsawwassen First Nation. This full time role focuses on planning community events that uphold and promote local traditions and heritage.
In this position, you will work closely with various stakeholders including Elders and community members to develop and implement workshops and cultural events. Collaborating with the Language & Culture Supervisor and the Events & Food Services team, you will ensure that cultural integrity is upheld in all planning processes. Your organizational skills will bring community programming to life.
Key Responsibilities:
• Organize and facilitate language workshops for the community
• Manage event logistics from setup to execution
• Partner with Elders and artists for authentic experiences
• Create and maintain event budgets diligently
• Advertise workshops and events effectively
Requirements:
• 3+ years in event planning or cultural initiatives
• Relevant post-secondary education is a plus
• Proven experience with Indigenous communities
• Excellent communication and relationship management skills
• Class 5 Driving License required
Promote Tsawwassen language and culture while coordinating memorable community events.
