Duties And Responsibilities

The role of the Instructional Assistant will be to provide support to students and faculty within the Medical Radiography program.

The Instructional Assistant will be responsible for providing assistance to faculty in the planning, preparation, and delivery of instruction to students.

Demonstrating specific skills, tasks, experiments, and/or work practices in a classroom and/or laboratory environment.

Working closely with students to model appropriate behaviours.

Assisting faculty with the set-up of labs in advance of class.

Setting a professional example and communicating effectively at a level appropriate to the ability of students and providing an emotionally safe learning workplace that is conducive to learning.

Other related duties consistent with providing and maintaining quality student-centered instruction will be required.

Screening Criteria

Registered Technologist, Radiological Technology, RTR.

Three years recent, relevant work experience.

Assessment Criteria

Knowledgeable in the subject area of Medical Radiography including key concepts and best practices.

Ability to demonstrate fundamental skills.

Ability to exchange information effectively.

Ability to manage time and tasks.

Analytical and problem-solving skills.

Relationship building.

Credentials obtained outside of Canada will require an evaluation to determine their Canadian educational equivalency. This evaluation must support the educational requirements for the position.

An offer of employment is conditional upon the satisfactory completion and review of all pre-employment requirements by the College.

Candidates must have a current membership in the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) prior to commencing employment.
