Are you an experienced Emergency Management skilled with a strong background in incident response, emergency planning, and business continuity? We are seeking a Contract Advisor, Emergency Management to support the implementation and continuous improvement of a leading corporate Emergency Management Program.
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 40 hours/week
Travel: Occasional travel to North American field sites with all travel expenses covered (flights, hotel, rental car, meals)
On-Call Requirement: Yes, as needed
About the Role
Reporting to the Manager, EMBC, the Contract Advisor will support the implementation of Emergency Management program requirements while ensuring operational and regulatory compliance across assigned regions and facilities. The successful candidate will be an experienced emergency management practitioner who can lead training initiatives, facilitate emergency exercises, and support incident response teams.
Key Responsibilities
Implement Corporate Emergency Management Program requirements at the field level
Update and maintain:
Emergency Response Plans
Emergency response tools
Collaborate with corporate Emergency Management teams to ensure consistent program execution
Support regional Incident Management Teams (IMTs) and promote emergency preparedness awareness
Lead and coordinate:
Tabletop exercises
Business continuity exercises
Coordinate with community first responders and stakeholders
Maintain and develop Mutual Aid Agreements and strategic partnerships
Support and enhance the Corporate Emergency Management Program
Contribute to Business Continuity Program development and sustainment
Ensure regulatory compliance within assigned areas
Facilitate emergency drills, tabletop exercises, and full-scale response exercises
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent
Valid Driver’s License
Incident Command System Certifications:
ICS 100
ICS 200
ICS 300
3+ years of experience developing and managing Emergency Response Plans and exercises
3+ years as an active member of an Incident Management Team
5+ years combined experience within:
Oil & Gas
Rail
HAZMAT Transportation
Working knowledge of regulatory requirements within relevant industries
Current certifications:
H2S Alive
First Aid
WHMIS
Preferred Qualifications
Related post-secondary education
Spill response training
Business Continuity Program experience
Advanced written and verbal communication skills
Experience working with emergency service consultants and contractors
