Sheshegwaning First Nation is hiring a Post-Majority Support Worker to empower young adults transitioning from care. Provide essential coaching and support in a culturally secure environment.
In this full-time position, you will work with young adults aged 18 to 29, focusing on budgeting, financial literacy, and career readiness. Your role will include assisting with applications for education and training, while promoting cultural participation through traditional practices. A significant aspect of your work will be developing individual support plans tailored to each youth.
Key Responsibilities:
• Educate on budgeting and financial management skills
• Support applications for education and training
• Encourage youth engagement in language and cultural activities
• Help secure safe and affordable housing
• Create individualized support plans with youth
Requirements:
• Diploma or degree in related fields preferred
• Two years of experience with young adults required
• Familiarity with child welfare systems is an asset
• Must possess a valid “G” Class driver’s license
• Availability for overtime or evening shifts
