Be a part of the dynamic team at the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing in Toronto as a Counsel. This role focuses on delivering high-quality legal support in municipal and housing law on a temporary contract basis.

The Ministry is looking for two experienced Counsel to address various legal matters affecting municipal projects. Successful candidates will possess knowledge in advisory contexts, legislative drafting, and public law. You will be involved in advising on procurement and representing interests before the Ontario Land Tribunal.

Key Responsibilities:
• Draft regulations, opinions, and ministerial orders
• Provide legal advice to support operational decisions
• Manage legal proceedings and applications for judicial review




• Collaborate with senior ministry staff on legal implications
• Represent the Crown in legal hearings and negotiations

Requirements:
• Lawyer membership in positive standing with the Law Society of Ontario
• Experience with the Planning Act and housing law
• High-volume legal drafting capability
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to assess and resolve complex legal issues
