Conducts ongoing reviews on High-risk Memberships within the allocated time frames and action accordingly. Conducts an initial assessment on alerts to identify unusual transactions that need to be escalated for further investigation. Assists with the annual review of AML procedures and ensure alignment with industry standards and the AML policy. Conducts investigations on suspicious activity that may be related to money laundering and/or terrorist financing activities, including preparing investigative reports with findings and recommendations gathered from the analysis of account history and source documents. Identifies politically exposed people (PEP), heads of international organizations (HIOs), persons of interest and designated persons after assessment of alerts and conduct reviews as per the AML/ATF policy and procedures. Assists in the planning, testing, and implementation of system enhancements and conversions. Develops and provides resources and recommendations to enhance software analytics and utilization. Provides assistance, where required, during regulatory examinations and external reviews. Conducts research and participate in departmental and organizational projects. Provides information and analysis to department leader management to support regulatory risk monitoring and reporting for the organization. Monitors the internal and external workplace for emerging AML issues and identify trends and organizational gaps. Keeps abreast of legislative and regulatory requirements, including the Proceeds of Crime (Money Laundering) and Terrorist Financing Act (PCMLTFA), and remains current on organizational practices, policies, procedures and identify immediate risk concerns pertaining to legislative and regulatory requirements. Collaborates with industry peers to ensure Tru Cooperative Bank approach aligns with industry best practices.
Participates in the delivery of related education and training across the organization using various forums. Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related discipline required Designations such as the CAMS, CFCS, CFCI or progress towards them, are nice to have. 3 years’ experience in the financial industry with 1 years’ experience in AML/TF Compliance and/or Operations required. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality. Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively and build long-term relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders, such as regulatory bodies, auditors, industry peers and law enforcement agencies Takes responsibility for self-development and continuous learning Demonstrates investigative, and report writing skills Experience using AML systems and investigative tools. Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Data Analytics Tools) Displays an understanding of risk and risk ownership by being able to demonstrate adherence to policies and procedures.
