Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities
Construct, renovate, and repair residential homes and community buildings.
Perform framing, drywall, flooring, roofing, siding, finishing carpentry, and cabinetry work.
Install windows, doors, trim, and other building components.
Conduct inspections and preventative maintenance on community housing and facilities.
Respond to maintenance requests and emergency repairs.
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
Ensure all work complies with applicable building codes and safety regulations.
Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance, and materials used.
Assist with project planning, estimating, and procurement of materials.
Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a protected and organized manner.
Mentor apprentices and labourers as required.
Qualifications, Skills & Abilities
Valid Red Seal Journeyperson Carpenter Certification.
Minimum three (3) years of carpentry experience.
Valid Saskatchewan Class 5 Driver's Licence.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
Knowledge of residential and commercial construction methods.
Knowledge of Saskatchewan building codes and safety regulations.
Satisfactory Criminal Record Check.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in a First Nation or Indigenous community.
WHMIS Certification.
Standard First Aid/CPR Certification.
Experience with project estimating and construction management.
Experience in housing maintenance and renovation programs.
