Our client a specialist in packaging and container design and manufacturing is hiring a Structural Graphic Designer to join their growing Design Department in North York!
This is a unique opportunity for a creative and technically minded designer to work with leading-edge cutting and printing technology, developing creative graphic and structural packaging solutions across a wide variety of substrates, including paper, plastic, vinyl, acrylic, metal and wood.
Key responsibilities include:
Creating print specifications, graphic designs, CAD drawings, 3D images and renderings
Producing packaging samples for the Sales team
Participating in customer visits to evaluate existing packaging and contribute to strategy sessions
Coordinating graphic and structural design projects through to production
Learning to schedule and operate specialized cutting and printing equipment
Maintaining design libraries and managing revisions to existing designs
Assisting with the ordering and verification of print tooling and steel-rule dies
Participating in incoming inspections to ensure completed work meets established design tolerances
Collaborating with Customer Service, Sales and Production to meet customer delivery requirements and support the implementation of current items
The successful candidate must have experience using ArtiosCAD and should also have knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and SolidWorks. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint would be beneficial. Strong collaboration and customer-service skills, along with an interest in learning recent cutting, printing and production technologies, are essential.
