My client, a major Canadian general contractor with over 100 years in the industry, is looking for a Senior Superintendent to lead field operations on large scale ICI projects. This is a senior site leadership role for someone who has run the boots on the ground side of $100 million plus commercial and institutional builds and knows how to keep a large, complex site safe, on schedule and on budget.
My client is coming off a record backlog and a steady stream of new project wins across the country, spanning institutional, industrial and infrastructure work, so this is a genuinely stable platform to build a career on, not a one project role.
What you will be doing Lead safety on site, implementing the company's safety program and holding subcontractors accountable to it
Direct and coordinate the work of subcontractors and trades across a large scale project
Build and maintain a site team through coaching, feedback and performance management
Work closely with the Project Manager on schedule development, contract administration and resolving design or schedule issues as they come up
Monitor subcontractor performance on safety, workmanship and materials
Own the daily paperwork: field reports, safety inspections, schedule updates
What you bring Progressive experience as a Superintendent in commercial and institutional construction, with direct field supervision on projects of $100 million or more
P3 or Design Build experience is an asset
Interiors experience is a strong asset
5 to 10+ years in a supervisory role on large ICI projects
Trade background in carpentry and/or Gold Seal Certification is an asset
Strong knowledge of construction methods and the ability to read and interpret contract drawings and specifications
Proficiency with MS Office including MS Project
A team-oriented, results driven leadership style with a track record of delivering large projects on time and on budget
