Reporting to the Supervisor, Drill & Blast, this role emphasizes the protected initiation, evaluation, and management of explosives in a challenging open-pit mining context. Your experience will be vital in loading blast holes, preparing blasting patterns, and maintaining compliance with safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
• Carry out blasting tasks in compliance with safety standards
• Load drill holes according to approved designs
• Conduct tie-ins using both electric and non-electric systems
• Maintain clean and organized blasting sites
• Engage in pre-shift safety discussions and analyses
Requirements:
• Valid driver’s license with an excellent driving history
• Minimum 3 years’ open-pit mining experience
• Familiarity with explosives products and systems
• Strong adherence to safety regulations and policies
• Capability to work long shifts under variable conditions
