The BC Nurses' Union is looking for a Labour Relations Officer to enforce collective agreements and support its nursing members. In this position, you will resolve grievances, mentor stewards, and engage in community organizing that aligns with union goals. The role involves negotiation and participation in educational programs for the benefit of members and the profession.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage maintenance and enforcement of agreements
• Counsel stewards on collective agreement interpretation
• Resolve grievances and present cases at hearings
• Negotiate local agreements affecting nurses
• Assist with educational initiatives for members
Requirements:
• 3-5 years of experience in grievance handling
• Degree in Social Sciences or Industrial Relations
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills
• Understanding of nursing-related employment issues
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel
