Join the University of Toronto as an Assistant Professor in African and/or Caribbean Francophone Literature, starting July 1, 2027. This role focuses on research and teaching excellence in an inclusive setting.

We are looking for candidates with a PhD in Francophone Literature or a related field, coupled with a track record of research accomplishments and effective teaching practices. Candidates from historically marginalized groups are strongly encouraged to apply, aligning with our commitment to diversity.

Key Responsibilities:
• Execute innovative, independent research initiatives
• Build an outstanding, competitive research program
• Engage in teaching and supervising graduate students
• Collaborate with Centers for African and Caribbean Studies
• Contribute to service within the Department of French

Requirements:
• PhD or similar by the appointment date
• Strong publication record in relevant journals
• Proven teaching experience and accomplishments
• Near-native fluency in French and proficiency in English
• Positive references highlighting research and teaching
