The Second Cook plays a vital role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality meals to our residents. This position involves working closely with the kitchen team to prepare nutritious meals that meet our senior residents' dietary requirements and preferences. The Second Cook must adhere to food safety and sanitation standards while demonstrating culinary creativity and excellent cooking skills.
Responsibilities
Meal Preparation: Prepare and cook meals according to planned menus, ensuring they are nutritious, flavorful, and visually appealing. Ensure timely and effective service during meal times.
Provide input and suggestions for recent menu items and recipe improvements.
Food Safety: Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen environment at all times, following food safety and sanitation guidelines and procedures.
Equipment Maintenance:
Ensure kitchen equipment is properly maintained and in good working order. Report any equipment malfunctions to the Head Cook or maintenance team.
Work collaboratively with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth and effective kitchen operations.
Communication: Communicate effectively with F&B; staff to ensure coordination and timely service.
Qualifications
Education
Culinary degree or equivalent certification preferred
Experience
Minimum of one year of experience in a professional kitchen.
