Make a difference as a Special Needs Assistant in Sambaa K'e with the Dehcho Divisional Education Council. Work closely with students facing unique challenges, supporting their educational journey daily.

This term position extends until June 2027, requiring individuals who can sensitively assist students with physical, social, and emotional challenges. You will help facilitate communication and learning by reinforcing classroom instruction in both individual and small group settings. Robust communication skills, and preferably knowledge of local languages, Sign Language, or Braille, are essential to ensure effective support.

Key Responsibilities:
• Assist the Principal with classroom duties and student support
• Reinforce instruction for individuals and small groups




• Prepare materials for special programs and activities
• Maintain accurate student records and IEP documentation
• Demonstrate a caring attitude to foster positive self-images

Requirements:
• Grade 12 or equivalent education and experience
• Ability to work with children with special needs
• Skills in local languages or Sign Language preferred
• Satisfactory vulnerable sector check
• Excellent communication capabilities
