Extendicare is hiring a part time Registered Nurse (RN) to ensure high-quality resident care and effective medication management. This role emphasizes direct interaction with residents and care documentation.
In your role as a Registered Nurse, you will report to the Director of Health and Wellness, playing a vital part in the care and wellness of our senior residents. Responsibilities include completing care plans, supervising medication administration by unregulated providers, and ensuring adherence to health standards. Collaborating with families and the healthcare team will be crucial to delivering exceptional care.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct and update residents’ care assessments
• Order and manage medications according to policies
• Assist in the planning of care conferences
• Facilitate resident education and self-medication audits
• Manage care assignments for nursing staff
Requirements:
• Fully registered as an RN in your province
• Background in gerontology and long-term care
• Excellent time management and customer focus skills
• Computer literate, particularly with Microsoft Office
• VPS certification current within the last 6 months
