Become a guardian of safety as a Detention Guard/Matron for Wikwemikong Tribal Police Service. This role involves monitoring and supporting prisoner welfare efficiently.

In this dynamic position, you will provide on-call supervision of individuals in custody, ensuring compliance with WTPS policies. You will help maintain a secure environment by regularly observing prisoners and ensuring all necessary security measures are in place. Your role is integral to the operations of the WTPS at Wikwemikong Unceded Territory.

Key Responsibilities:
• Regularly observe prisoners for security safety
• Assist during prisoner searches after proper training
• Check and report on the condition of cell facilities




• Keep cell doors secured and inventory of keys
• Ensure personal effects of prisoners are stored safely

Requirements:
• Ontario Secondary School Diploma minimum
• Valid class G Ontario Driver License
• Strong commitment to confidentiality practices
• Knowledge of Anishinaabemowin is an asset
• Current First Aid/CPR certification prior to employment
