Leading Thunderbird Lodge is hiring a Cook to provide nutritious, culturally appropriate meals for youth in their care. This position requires planning meals according to guidelines, maintaining kitchen hygiene, and facilitating workshops on nutrition and cooking. You’ll play a key role in special events and provide an enriching culinary experience that supports overall wellness.
Key Responsibilities:
• Create and execute nutritious meal plans monthly
• Prepare meals that meet dietary guidelines for youth
• Ensure kitchen and dining areas are clean and secure
• Manage food ordering based on activities and needs
• Lead workshops on nutrition and meal preparation
Requirements:
• High school diploma; Cooking certificate preferred
• Valid Safe Food Handling certification and Driver's License
• Familiarity with First Nations Food Guide
• Experience in traditional and outdoor cooking an asset
• Strong interpersonal skills in working with youth
