Embark on a fulfilling journey as K’Chitwa Kwe/Oshkaabewis with Wiikwemkoong Child and Family Services. Support cultural integration and work alongside Knowledge Keepers to uplift community values.
In this role, you will collaborate closely with the Cultural Services Team and elders, ensuring that child and family services reflect Anishnaabe traditions. This position requires hands-on involvement in training, maintaining cultural resources, and fostering community relationships, resulting in positive impacts for children and families wherever they may be.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct monthly supervision meetings with the Cultural Services Lead
• Develop a network of cultural resources and Elders
• Train staff on cultural protocols and ceremonies
• Integrate cultural practices into programs
• Provide services to youth and community members
Requirements:
• Familiarity with Anishinaabe culture and experience living in community
• Insight into First Nations organizations and their dynamics
• Solid awareness of confidentiality practices
• Knowledge of Child and Family Services Act regulations
• Proficiency in Anishinaabemowin is a strong asset
