Alberta Health Services seeks a dedicated Therapy Assistant for its Speech Language Pathology unit in Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital. Support effective rehabilitation for adult and pediatric clients both directly and indirectly.
In this full time role, you'll collaborate with an interprofessional team to enhance the quality of care across various healthcare settings. Your contributions will focus on monitoring client progress and fostering effective communication strategies while ensuring each patient's unique needs are prioritized. This position promotes continuous learning and skilled growth within a supportive atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist in delivering rehabilitation services to diverse patient groups
• Work closely with speech language pathologists and other professionals
• Participate in both client care and non-client service provisions
• Engage in reflective practice and team competency development
• Contribute to quality improvement efforts within the unit
Requirements:
• Diploma from an accredited Rehabilitation Therapy Assistant program
• Capacity to wear heavy lead shielding while assisting
• Preference given to candidates with speech language pathology experience
• Familiarity with AAC is advantageous
• Current criminal record check necessity
