Join the Village of Salmo as a Level II Wastewater Treatment Facility Operator to ensure essential operations in wastewater management and public works. Engage in diverse tasks while supporting local infrastructure.
This role is vital within the Public Works Department, where you will operate a Level II Wastewater Treatment Facility alongside managing a Level I Water Distribution System. As a problem solver, you will handle diverse responsibilities including system inspection, data management, and emergency backups in a team-oriented team setting. Your adaptability to outdoor working conditions will ensure effective service delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
• Inspect and manage wastewater treatment and collection systems
• Perform data collection and fulfill reporting obligations
• Respond to emergency service calls and equipment operations
• Participate in public works tasks including snow removal
• Support infrastructure projects alongside team members
Requirements:
• EOCP Wastewater Treatment Level II or equivalent status
• At least 4 years of relevant utility experience
• Familiarity with Microsoft Windows and SCADA systems
• Valid Class 5 BC Drivers Licence with an unblemished record
• Certification as a Backflow Assembly Tester from BCWWA
