Join SAVAC as a Programming Assistant and Artist-in-Residence, nurturing your art practice while supporting gallery activities. This position is based in Toronto and offers a unique hybrid experience.

This 24-week full time internship supports emerging artists and combines artistic creation with programming assistance. As an applicant, you will work both in the studio to develop new artwork and onsite at SAVAC to support administrative tasks. Reporting directly to the Artistic and Executive Directors, you will gain invaluable insights into the workings of an artist-run center. Flexibility for remote studio work allows for creativity in various environments while also attending to programming duties onsite.

Key Responsibilities:
• Create and present a body of original artwork




• Complete administrative programming tasks as needed
• Assist in organizing events and public talks
• Engage with the community through arts initiatives
• Support communication with directors and staff

Requirements:
• Canadian citizen or permanent resident status required
• Must be between 16 and 30 years of age
• Recent post-secondary graduate in arts
• Reside in GTHA or capable of commuting
• Passion for visual arts and supporting artist-run initiatives
