Join the team as a Full time Peer Support Worker with CMHA Thames Valley in London and help individuals on their mental health journey. Leverage your lived experience to empower peers in their recovery.
This role within the Peer Support Program focuses on building supportive relationships that promote self-determination and independence. You'll work collaboratively to help participants navigate their wellness journey while fostering essential life skills and providing necessary resources. Your active engagement will make a significant difference in the community.
Key Responsibilities:
• Model effective coping strategies based on recovery principles
• Support peers with access to services and community outings
• Facilitate discussions to enhance peer connections
• Work with peers on wellness planning and goal setting
• Maintain documentation of support interactions
Requirements:
• Completion of Secondary School diploma
• Experience with mental health, addiction, or homelessness
• Valid G class driver’s license and access to a vehicle
• Up-to-date Police Vulnerable Sector Check
• Proven regular attendance at work
