In this role, you'll be instrumental in supporting the Mamisarvik Healing Centre's culinary initiatives. You will lead meal preparation, maintain high standards of cleanliness and safety, and ensure the kitchen runs efficiently. Collaborate with staff and residents to incorporate seasonal and traditional foods into menu planning.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare nutritious meals while accommodating dietary needs
• Ensure high cleanliness and food safety standards
• Manage kitchen supplies and maintain equipment
• Conduct staff training on food safety and kitchen procedures
• Assist in food-related programming and events
Requirements:
• Community college degree in culinary arts preferred
• Secure Food Handling Certification is mandatory
• 1-2 years’ experience serving traditional food
• Knowledge of cost management and budgeting
• Fluency in English, Inuktitut an asset
